Austral Ecology: A Journal of Ecology in the Southern Hemisphere is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research related to the ecology of land, marine and freshwater systems in the Southern Hemisphere. Published by Blackwell Science Asia, it is the official journal of the Ecological Society of Australia. First published in 1976 as Australian journal of ecology., it adopted its current name in 2000. There are eight issues per year. As of early 2007 there have been 32 volumes. At that time it had an impact factor of 1.769. Its ISSNs are ISSN 1442-9985 for the print edition, and ISSN 1442-9993 for the online edition.[1][2]
