Surface Coatings International (SCI) is a bimonthly journal published by the Oil and Colour Chemists’ Association (OCCA). OCCA members receive SCI as the organisation’s official journal as a benefit of their membership package. 
OCCA has published its own journal for well over 90 years and at the start of 2014 the new editorial team gave SCI a much-needed overhaul, complete with a new logo, more modern typefaces and content which matches changing styles of delivery for the information-rich age that we are in now.
It is vital that publications stay up-to-date with the changing nature of information and promotion, and the new look and content in SCI does exactly that.
SCI is also affiliated to three international trade associations, which publish their information through the magazine.
The magazine provides an excellent summary of worldwide news for the coatings sector, including paints, =printing inks, adhesives and sealants and all the raw materials which comprise these formulation-led industries. In addition, the news extends to techno-commercial items, technical items and news of OCCA’s members and their regional or section activities around the world. Although OCCA has its headquarters in the UK, OCCA members and SCI readers are found across the globe.
Members or member companies receive preferential advertising rates in SCI, and with over 70% of its readers involved in the manufacture of surface coatings, which is a very cost-effective combination when it comes to targeting specifiers in the coatings sector.
