本书共分六个部分：部分为橡胶简史，介绍了天然橡胶、合成橡胶的发展简史；第二部分为生胶原材料，介绍了生胶的结构、能及应用；第三部分为橡胶配合，介绍了配合基本及生胶的配合体系（硫化体系、填充补强体系、软化增塑体系及护体系）；第四部分为橡胶加工工艺，介绍了混炼、挤出、压延和成型基本知识；第五部分为橡胶硫化，介绍了硫化、非硫化、动态硫化等基本知识；第六部分为胶料物理机械能测试，介绍了硫化特、拉伸能、耐介质等胶料常规重要物测试基本知识。
